Our Ash Scattering Memorial Services
Marin Memorial Services offers private memorial, ash scattering services at sea aboard a beautiful 43' US Coast Guard certified/inspected vessel. Click Here to tour the boat.
A standard service takes approximately an hour and a half. We depart from Sausalito and, weather permitting, travel into the ocean just past the Golden Gate Bridge. Taking into account the weather conditions, we will select a sheltered, private setting near the Marin Headlands.
The service usually involves making 3 circles:
During the first circle, flowers are released into the water.
We then circle again through those flowers and the deckhand will advise of the appropriate time to deposit the ashes.
The third circle provides an opportunity for placing additional flowers and for remembrances and prayers.
Ash Scattering at Sea Service
$600 for up to 6 people +$20 for each additional person up to 25 people maximum.
We are proud to offer our standard 1½ hour ash scattering service at an affordable price.

Add a Bay Tour
We offer optional Bay Tours for an additional $400 per hour.
A one-hour tour might include a tour of the San Francisco waterfront, Alcatraz, or Angel Island. The calm waters behind Angel Island offer an excellent location for a picnic.
Unattended Ash Scattering
Standard unattended ash scattering service is $250.
Scatter your loved one's ashes under the Golden Gate Bridge from anywhere in the world. This is the simplest, lowest cost way to scatter ashes at sea under the Golden Gate Bridge.
Personalize Your Memorial Service
You may wish to personalize your service according to the wishes of the deceased and the families involved.
This might include:
Inclusion of a priest, minister or other clergy
Music that the deceased especially enjoyed (we can play your CDs or iPhone)
Flower petals or cut flowers to release into the water
These are just a few examples - we will try our best to accommodate anything else that you might have in mind - it's your event!
At the end of your event you will receive a memorial card with the exact location to be saved forever, stating the latitude, longitude, and date of your event.
